Alex Baird Photography is VERY excited to announce that we will begin offering wetplate tintype prints to our clients soon.
Tintype photography is a historical process dating back to the Civil War era. Each image is completely unique. There are flaws in it, as you can see in the examples below, but that's what makes it look original and authentic, and thereby perfect. Each print takes approximately 20-30 minutes to create. To "finish" the image, a varnish is added to the image and must cure for 36-48 hours before delivery. It is well worth the wait.
We'll be offering sizes to include 4"x5" and 2"x2". We hope to be offering 8"x10" prints (maybe larger) by the end of the year.
Pricing will be announced later in August, but keep watching here for details.
